African football fans will still have a good reason to rejoice in 2023, the CAN is coming! The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is sure to be an exciting event, with teams from across the continent vying for the title held by Team Senegal, who won against Team Egypt on penalties, 4 -2.

But before that, the supporters of the Cameroonian team will have the chance to support the players during the next 2022 World Cup which will take place in Qatar at the end of the year, a chance for our beautiful nation.

The African Cup of Nations and Cameroon

The Africa Cup of Nations, or CAN, is the main football competition in Africa. It takes place every two years and opposes teams from all over the African continent.

The first CAN took place in 1957 and was won by Egypt. Since then, the tournament has been held 33 times, the most recent edition having been organized by Cameroon from January 9, 2022 to February 6, 2022.

Here are the 12 groups of four teams each:

  • Group F: Algeria, Uganda, Niger, Tanzania.
  • Group G: Mali, Congo, Gambia, South Sudan.
  • Group H: Ivory Coast, Zambia, Comoros, Lesotho.
  • Group I: DR Congo, Gabon, Mauritania, Sudan.
  • Group J: Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Botswana.
  • K-group: Morocco, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Liberia.
  • Group L: Senegal, Benin, Mozambique, Rwanda.

The first team in Group C, the Cameroon team could, if all goes well, do well and find yourself first in your groupsynonymous with qualification for the final stages of the competition.

Before the CAN, we must focus on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
