New York City FC announces stadium plans / MLS / New York City FC / SOFOOT.com

Soon finished squatting Yankee Stadium.

New York City FC, founded in 2013 by the owners of Manchester City and the New York Yankees baseball team, therefore becomes independent. The announcement was made this Wednesday at a press conference, in partnership with Democratic Mayor Eric Adams. The 25,000-seat stadium is set to open in the borough of Queens, in the Willets Point neighborhood.

As reported by Guardianthe development project also includes the creation of 2,500 housing units, a hotel and a commercial area.

Delivery scheduled for 2027.
