New road success for Kyle Larson

After Sonoma and Watkins Glen, Kyle Larson recorded another success on the road circuit at the Charlotte event.

Returning from hell or almost to win a third road circuit victory this season, Kyle Larson went through all the states during the 109 laps of this road race. The Hendrick Motorsports rider struggling with electrical and grip issues early in the race managed to get back into the fight for victory thanks to his team’s composure. Then, he was aggressive, in particular by taking out his teammate William Byron in the chicane of the back straight.

Kyle Larson becomes the first driver in history to achieve three road circuit successes in the same season in the NASCAR Cup Series. Above all, he won for the seventh time this season and garnered five additional bonus points at the start of the last round of the playoffs, to bring his lead in the general classification to 35 points.

I wouldn’t have believed it. Once the change, it was better. It didn’t smell good, but the team remained calm. Cliff (Daniels) told me everything the guys were doing during the pit stops. At the end of the race I tried to take the best possible raises. It was a very cool race, but also crazy all day.

Kyle Larson finally won ahead of Tyler Reddick, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin for the top 5. Next came Matt DiBenedetto, Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney and Alex Bowman for the top 10.

Setbacks for the title contenders

The various drivers playing for the title have all experienced a problem at one time or another during this race. From the electrical worries of Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman, to the spinning of Brad Keseolwski, not to mention the violent off-track of Kevin Harvick, it was not necessarily good to be a title contender this Sunday on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course .

Finally the four drivers eliminated, are the four drivers who were below the waterline at the start of the race, namely Kevin Harvick, Christopher Bell, William Byron and Alex Bowman.

Harvick takes revenge on Elliott

It didn’t take long, three weeks, for Kevin Harvick to take revenge on Chase Elliott. Following the voluntary blocking of the Hendrick Motorsports driver in the final laps of Bristol to favor Kyle Larson at the expense of Kevin Harvick, the 2014 champion took revenge on Charlotte at the start of the last segment by sending driver Hendrick into the wall.

The statements of the two pilots suggest that the situation is not resolved. Other explanations could take place on the track in the coming weeks. If it seems unwise to attempt anything on the fast ovals of Texas and Kansas, Martinsville could be a prime location for another act of the Champions Wars.
