Nearly 2.5 million tickets sold

FIFA assures and repeats it like a refrain: the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be a popular success. Thursday, August 18, the body unveiled the latest ticketing figures. They continue to touch the summits. A total of 2.45 million tickets have already been sold. The second of three sales phases, organized from July 5 to August 16 according to the principle of “first come, first served“, allowed to sell 520,532 additional tickets. At the top of the most demanding countries, Qatar, the United States, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, France, Argentina, Brazil and Germany. Regarding the matches, the most coveted during the preliminary phase almost all concern a South American country: Cameroon-Brazil (group G), Brazil-Serbia (group G), Portugal-Uruguay (group H), Costa Rica-Germany (group E), Australia-Denmark (group D). A final sales phase will take place in the last few weeks before the start of the Worlds. It will also work according to the rule of “first come, first served“. Its dates will be announced by FIFA before the end of September.
