NBA – The Bucks, defending champions, honored by President Joe Biden
(Belga) The Milwaukee Bucks, defending NBA champions, the North American basketball league, were honored by US President Joe Biden at the White House Monday in Washington.
As tradition has it, the reigning NBA champion is honored at the White House every year as he travels to Washington to face the Wizards, the franchise in the US capital. A tradition that was lost between 2017 and 2019 when the Golden State Warriors, champions in 2017 and 2018, and the Toronto Raptors, champions in 2019 boycotted the trip to the White House due to the presence of former President Donald Trump. Champions at the end of a 2019-2020 season disrupted by the coronavirus, the Los Angeles Lakers were unable to visit Joe Biden in April because of the health context. The Milwaukee Bucks won the second NBA title in their history last July, 50 years after the first conquered in 1971. (Belga)
