The NBA has launched a raiding investigation into the New York Knicks over the signing of Jalen Brunson, reports Chris Haynes, of Yahoo! Sports.
The league will try to find out if the Knicks approached Brunson before the free agent market officially opened.
The latter signed with the team for four years and $104 million on opening day.
The Mavs said at the time that they hadn’t even had the chance to discuss a contract extension with the 25-year-old point guard, who will be 26 on August 31.
Last season, Brunson helped Dallas reach the Western Conference Finals, but the Golden State Warriors won in five games.
In 79 games, the Villanova product averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 79 games, in addition to making 50.2% of his shots.
