NBA: Atlanta eliminates New York and will meet Philadelphia –

Clint Capela and the Hawks are in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference, where they will challenge the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Atlanta went on to win 103-89 on the New York Knicks’ floor to win the series 4-1.

The Hawks advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2015/2016, a season in which Thabo Sefolosha still wore their jersey. They had however lost the three games played against the Knicks during the regular season, and did not have the advantage of the floor in this series.

Already winner of Act I in New York, Atlanta won a second time at Madison Square Garden, thanks in particular to an iron defense orchestrated by Clint Capela. The Geneva pivot reigned supreme under the boards, finishing the series with an average of 13.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

Capela managed 14 points – 6 of 7 shooting – and 15 rebounds – including 5 captured in the offensive phase, blocking 2 opposing shots to finish with the best differential of his team (+21). But the man of the match was Hawks point guard Trae Young, author of 36 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
