Nascar Cup Series: Denny Hamlin wins in the rain at Darlington
Three days after a carefree recovery, the NASCAR riders returned to the Darlington oval in South Carolina (United States) on Wednesday. But the second closed-door race of the season was disrupted by the rain. Starting with a delay of 90 minutes, it even lost its last twenty laps, out of a total of 228.
Under these conditions, it was an experienced driver, Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), who won, thus winning the 39th victory of his career and his third on this circuit. He had already dominated the Daytona 500 at the start of the season. Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Erik Jones, Joey Logano, Aric Almirola, Jimmie Johnson, Matt DiBenedetto and Martin Truex Jr. are the other top 10 drivers.
In the Championship, Harvick, with 258 points, leads ahead of Logano, Bowman and Hamlin. The next two races will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, next Sunday and Wednesday.
