For the 11e season, the Philosophy meeting settle at the The Odyssey bookstore of Valet (Loire Atlantique).
Organized by the Philosophia association, the meetings begin on November 10, at 7:15 p.m., with an intervention by Jean-Luc Navielle on the relationship between man and animal, around the work of Elisabeth de Fontenay.
For this edition, the appointments offer a new formula: 6 appointments which will be spread out throughout the year, with two formulas: either a subscription for the 6 sessions (30 euros, on registration at the L ‘Odyssey), i.e. a lump sum of 8 euros to attend the session of your choice.
Open to all
The meetings are always held under the leadership of Stéphane Vendé, philosophy teacher at the Aimé Césaire high school in Clisson and patron of M-Editer.
With always the same desire: to bring reflection on major social issues to all, whether you are passionate or totally foreign to philosophy.
Each session takes place according to an immutable ritual: a presentation of the theme and the authors by a specialist, from 7:15 p.m., and a discussion with the public which can last more or less long. All meetings are filmed and broadcast on the M-Editer YouTube channel.
In the coming months, the L’Odyssée bookstore is also organizing a series ofevents that will punctuate the end of the year.
The Literary aperitifs will thus take place every two months (the next one is scheduled for November 22), with a discussion around our readings and the small dishes that everyone will bring.
On October 19, there will be a wine tasting, with winemaking consultant Franck Deniau.
On November 15 and 16, the bookstore will welcome the author of thrillers Michael Bussywhich will present the NEO series, books by science fiction dedicated to teenagers.
On the evening of the 15th, he will participate in a meeting with the public around his work and on the 16th, from 3 p.m., he will hold a signing session. Finally, on December 8, the bookseller organizes a meeting with the author Gaëlle Josse.
