Nacho Piatti joins the CF Montreal organization


A little over two years after leaving CF Montreal, in 2020, Nacho Piatti is back in the fold of the Belle Province club, but this time, as a collaborator in the sports department in terms of recruitment.

This was announced by the Montreal team in a press release on Thursday.

« We are very happy to have Nacho accept this new role with us, » said CF Montreal President and CEO Gabriel Gervais. It’s very important for us to stay connected with our history and a good way to do that is by collaborating with former players. Nacho joins the long list of alumni who work or collaborate with our organization. Since he knows our team culture, the city and MLS well, he will be more than a scout with contacts in South America and Europe, but an ambassador of the Club based in Argentina.

« It’s important to use all possible resources to improve recruiting, » added CF Montreal Vice-President and Chief Sports Officer Olivier Renard. It’s a great opportunity to continue this precious collaboration with Nacho. It’s good for him and the club to be able to work together on other aspects of the sport after his playing career. »

The Argentinian thrilled Stade Saputo during his six seasons with the Montreal team, he who had even been named to the all-star team four times, from 2015 to 2018.

In 130 Major League Soccer regular season games, he rattled off the ropes 66 times and had 35 assists. He also had five goals and three assists in eight playoff games, including helping his team reach the 2016 Eastern Finals.

Piatti was also in the Quebec metropolis during the most recent home game of CF Montreal, Saturday, a victory of 4 to 0 against the Revolution of New England. Presented before the match, Piatti had also been welcomed to warm applause.
