GENEVA/SWITZERLAND – Continuing on the path of continuous innovation, MSC Cruises announces details of new high-tech entertainment experiences aboard the company’s new ship, MSC Seascape. Debuting in December, MSC Seascape will offer innovative experiences for passengers of all ages looking for thrills and adrenaline. The flagship will be ROBOTRON, an exciting attraction that offers the thrill of roller coasters at sea as well as a personalized musical experience. The ship will also feature two new VR experiences and a host of other high-tech entertainment for all ages.
Brandon Briggs, SVP Onboard Revenues at MSC Cruises, said: “We are delighted to offer our guests endless high-tech entertainment options on board MSC Seascape to satisfy the desires of adrenaline seekers. ROBOTRON, the first-ever robotic attraction to appear on a cruise ship, will create a new standard of fun with an immersive and personalized experience unique to each pilot. Our entertainment formula with virtual reality attractions, special effects and simulators guarantees unforgettable experiences that will amaze the guests”.
MSC Cruises is at the forefront of creating new experiences and MSC Seascape is an important step in this process. The new ROBOTRON attraction is a state-of-the-art robotic arm with an attached platform that seats three guests and flies it 53 meters high, giving participants a unique view of the landscape while being moved through different directions and flipped for approximately 360° rotation.
ROBOTRON offers an experience that customers can personalize by choosing lights, colors and music to accompany them on their visit. Seated on the mixing desk, guests find themselves behind the DJ booth, with beat and bass displayed on a giant screen as colorful patterns, pulsing lights and dancing figures, while the robotic arm hops and squirms to the beat. Participants can also choose their thrills, making ROBOTRON an experience suitable for every member of the family.
But it does not stop there. In addition to ROBOTRON, high-tech entertainment onboard MSC Seascape includes: 360° VR Flight Simulator: With all the thrills of an outdoor roller coaster, this immersive simulator is the ultimate virtual roller coaster experience , with VR headsets and stunning special effects. Customers can choose from different universes to immerse themselves in an unprecedented thrilling experience.
Moto VR: Customers who want speed will love MSC Seascape’s new VR bikes, which put players on a real racing circuit, with gusts of wind and splashes of water to complete the experience.
MSC Formula Racer: Perfect for motor racing enthusiasts ready to satisfy their thirst for speed, this activity puts guests in the driver’s seat of an exciting racing simulation game with realistic effects that will have guests’ hearts racing.
MSC Seascape will be christened during the ceremony scheduled for December 7 in New York and then relocated to PortMiami to offer incredible Caribbean cruises all year round with two distinct itineraries: Eastern Caribbean: with a stopover in Ocean Cay, MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau in the Bahamas, San Juan in Puerto Rico and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
Ahead of her spectacular christening ceremony, MSC Seascape offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience with her maiden cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy, across the Atlantic to New York.
This 17-day Grand Voyage will touch the Spanish cities of Barcelona, Valencia and Cadiz before heading out to the Atlantic to begin the crossing. Funchal, Madeira and King’s Wharf, Bermuda are the most exciting stops before reaching New York, the city that never sleeps.
