Sébastien Bourdais had a strategic race which he managed to perfection this weekend, during the Gateway IndyCar round. Frenchman AJ Foyt Racing finished fifth, his best result since the season opener at Barber.
Remained on the track to take the lead during a relaunch, the quadruple Champcar champion then shifted for fuel and managed to keep up with the facts of the race to keep fifth place at the finish.
« It was a good day for the number 14 Chevrolet here » Bourdais declared on arrival. « The World Wide Technology Raceway was not a place of success for me, I had finished in the wall in 2019. »
