Morocco overtakes Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire overtakes


Like every month, FIFA published its ranking of nations this Friday. After the last two days of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers disputed in recent days, it is experiencing several important changes. If Senegal remains the 20th nation in the world and number one in Africa, it is experiencing a change of dolphin. Carried by its flawless performance in the qualifiers, Morocco indeed doubles Tunisia to 2nd place on the continent! Following its draw against Burkina Faso (2-2), Algeria lost two places at the world level and fell back to 32nd position.

Further down, we note the breakthrough of Cameroon which gains two places at the African level by overtaking Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, which it eliminated on Tuesday (1-0) and which is also overtaken by Mali, in large form. Note the jump of Equatorial Guinea, which signs the best progress of the month at the world level (+12, 114th) thanks to its success against Tunisia (1-0).

Remember that it is this classification that will be used to compose the two hats for the draw World Cup play-offs in the Africa Zone.
