More than half of French people consult sports sites and apps

34.1 million French people connected in February 2022, a month marked in particular by the Winter Olympics in China, to a sports site or application, i.e. more than half of the French population, according to the latest data. of Mediametry.

According to the latest figures from the Global Internet Audience of Médiamétrie, 9.4 million French Internet users connected daily to a sports platform last February. More than two-thirds (68%) of daily visitors in this category used their mobile phone exclusively.

L’Équipe is the platform that attracts the largest audience, with nearly 12 million unique monthly visitors (2.7 million daily visitors). Eurosport follows with 7.4 million people having visited at least once in the month its site or its mobile application. BFM TV Sport (5.7 million), (4.5 million) and Franceinfo Sport (4.3 million) are the other most popular sports platforms.

In February 2022, 54 million people went online during the month, or 86% of the population. Every day, 45.5 million French people surf the Web.

This measurement is based on a unique panel of more than 25,000 individuals aged 2 and over, including 6,200 equipped with at least two screens (computer and/or smartphone and/or tablet). It also covers more than 7,000 brands and 1,000 applications.
