Toronto FC have confirmed the signing of Venezuelan Yeferson Soteldo as the third designated player.
Santos FC in Brazil reported the 23-year-old winger’s departure on Saturday amid talk of a sale to an MLS team. At this point, the team had not yet been identified.
During his time with Santos, Soteldo scored 20 goals in 104 games. He thus joins Jozy Altidore and Alejandro Pozuelo as designated players within the formation of the TFC.
A private visitor to training
The TFC was also reminded that the club is not based at home on Monday, when an alligator strolled on the ground of its training site in Florida.
Coach Chris Armas has confirmed that an alligator, which he described as « very big » has attracted attention. If the players went to see the animal more closely, the breeder instead went in the opposite direction.
The club posted a photo on social media that showed forward Jozy Altidore observing the beast in the distance.
