MLS – Soccer: Summary of the matches of September 3, 2021 in the Garber circuit
Matt Polster pushed Arnor Traustason’s set-piece in the 33rd minute and the 10-man New England Revolution held on to win their 1-0 duel against the Philadelphia Union on Friday at the Subaru Park.
Brad Knighton made eight saves to keep the Revolution 14 points ahead of Nashville SC who also won their game 3-1 against New York City FC.
Traustason was ejected from the game after 14 minutes in the second half, forcing the New England side to defend ten for the remainder of the game. Philadelphia had to do without seven players who are currently with the national team of their respective country in addition to not having the services of Ilsinho and Sergio Santos who are injured.
The Revolution’s victory allows Club de Foot Montréal to have a match in hand over the Union with only one point behind the 5th place in the Eastern Conference.
