MLS: Samuel Grandsir and Sega Coulibaly shine in the Los Angeles derby

The French of the Los Angeles Galaxy were in the spotlight on Sunday in Major League Soccer (MLS), the North American championship. Opposed to Los Angeles FC in a derby at the top of the Western Conference, the Galaxy won 2-1 thanks to a decisive goal from Sega Coulibaly, which was the first achievement with the Californian franchise, as well as two assists from Samuel Grandsir in the first half hour (to “Chicharito” Hernandez in the 13th minute then Coulibaly in the 31st).

The Galaxy one point from the top of the rankings

Grandsir now has three assists in seven MLS rounds, just one length behind Slovak assist leader Jan Gregus. The third Frenchman in the Galaxy squad, Kevin Cabral, came on late, replacing Spaniard Victor Vazquez in the 67th minute. Thanks to this success, the Galaxy is one point behind its opponent of the day, still leader of the Western Conference.

In the Eastern Conference, we note the goal of another Frenchman, Rudy Camacho, who actively participated in the victory (2-1) of the Montreal Impact on the road to the New York Red Bulls. A victory that allows the Canadian club to abandon the bottom of the rankings and settle in ninth place. This is the first goal with the Impact of a Camacho landed in Montreal at the start of 2022.
