MLS: Larrys Mabiala plays heroes with a 90th-minute goal, Timbers in Western final

A goal from Larrys Mabiala in the 90th minute of play saw the Portland Timbers win 1-0 over the Colorado Rapids on Thursday.

The Timbers therefore advance to the final of the Western Association.

They will face the winner of the duel between Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City next weekend.

Portland has gotten over the loss of star midfielder Sebastian Blanco, who was injured early in the second half. The Argentine appeared to injure a calf.

Auston Trusty and Dominique Badji had scoring opportunities in the first half for the Rapids.

The Timbers will be deprived of Dairon Asprilla in their next playoff game as he received a red card for misconduct after a skirmish with Braian Galvan
