MLS: Jozy Altidore will leave Toronto for the Revolution
Whoever is largely responsible for Toronto’s first MLS Cup win is going to move.
Forward Jozy Altidore will join the New England Revolution, reports Marc Stein.
Back to the NBA trade deadline momentarily … but some key @MLS news first:
Longtime US international striker Jozy Altidore is poised to join the New England Revolution, league sources say.
Altidore, 2017 MLS Cup MVP with Toronto, is expected to join the Revs later this week.

Altidore was acquired by Toronto in January 2015 from English side Sunderland, who were playing in the Premier League at the time, in exchange for Jermain Defoe.
He scored 13 goals in his first campaign with the Canadian club, 10 in 2016 and 15 in 2017, when he was a key element in winning the Supporters’ Shield and the MLS Cup.
He had completed the 2-0 victory of his team with a goal in the 67th minute against the Seattle Sounders.
However, the TFC lost in the final in 2019 against this same team.
Last season, Altidore only scored twice in 13 games.
He has 75 goals in 160 games with Toronto.
