MLS: Javier « Chicharito » Hernandez (Galaxy) operated on his right knee

Los Angeles Galaxy forward Javier « Chicharito » Hernandez « has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will be operated on shortly, » the Californian club playing in MLS announced on Friday.

The 35-year-old Mexican was injured on Wednesday in the quarter-final of the US Open Cup lost (3-2) against Real Salt Lake. The date of his operation has not been communicated, but given the severity of his injury, he should not be able to play again before the end of the season.
