MLS Cup: make way for the grand final!

It’s big day for the Timbers and New York City FC.

The MLS Cup final will be played this afternoon in Portland. You will be able to watch this clash on TVA Sports and on TVA Sports direct from 3 p.m. (the pre-game will start at 2 p.m.).

The Timbers are in their third MLS Cup final since joining the Garber Tour in 2011. Today’s decisive game will have special cachet as it will be the first to be played at home.

That may well be an advantage for the Oregon side, who have maintained an impressive 11-4-2 record this season at Providence Park, while the Big Apple side have posted a poor 4-8- record. 5 when playing away from home.

The Timbers are not the underdog this time, them who won the championship in 2015 on the lawn of the Crew in Columbus. Diego Valeri, Dairon Asprilla and Diego Chara, three players who are still part of the club’s core, are also making their third appearance in the final, after the one won in 2015 and the one lost against Atlanta United in 2018.
