MLS: Columbus Crew add marquee striker
The Columbus Crew acquired forward Cucho Hernandez for $10 million from English club Watford on Monday.

It is the seventh most lucrative transfer in Major League Soccer (MLS) history, according to information from the Garber Circuit website.
At the same time, the Colombian has affixed his signature to the bottom of a contract which will bind him to the Crew until the conclusion of the 2025 campaign. He will play under the label of young designated player, he who is only 23 years old .
Last season, with Watford, in the best English soccer league, he scored five goals and managed two assists, he who took part in 25 games, totaling 1137 minutes of play. His club, however, finished the season in 19e rank – out of 20 teams – which earned them relegation to the second division for the 2022-2023 campaign.
Arriving at Watford in January 2017, Hernandez has played mainly in the Spanish Premier League, on loan to three different teams in as many seasons. With SD Huesca, RCD Mallorca and FC Getafe, in that order, he took part in 79 games, shaking the ropes 11 times, in addition to collecting seven assists.
