In addition to not losing a game, CF Montreal finds a way to fill the opposing nets. In 11 games since the start of the season, the team have hit the target 22 times, double the total of their next opponent, Nashville SC.
New CF Montreal acquisition Alistar Johnson will face his former teammates for the first time since being traded from Nashville last December. The Canadian defender is having a good time in the Metropolis. In the last game against Charlotte FC, Johnson netted his first goal for his new team, in a 2-0 win.
“It will be good to be back. I’m excited to see the crowd. It will also be nice to see my old teammates again, but we are here to work. We want to come back here with a few more points in the bank and stay on top of the East. I know they’re going to come out strong early in the game after their loss to Houston. They don’t like to lose twice in a row and they’ll try to avoid that at all costs, but we’re in good shape right now,” Johnson said of his return to Music City.
The Montrealers will have the heavy task of inflicting a first loss at home to Nashville, which has two wins and a draw in three meetings so far in its new stadium.
Nashville will be looking to rebound from a 2-0 loss to Houston last weekend.
