MONTREAL – CF Montreal announced Friday that it has exercised the option of its head coach Wilfried Nancy for the 2022 season.
« I’m making this decision now, because I see the work he does every day, the philosophy of play during the matches, as well as the relationship between the players and the coaching staff which has been very positive since day one, » said CF Montreal sports director Olivier Renard. I am confident for the future. «
Aged 44, Nancy has been in post since March 8. He was assistant coach of the first team since January 7, 2016. He was notably part of the coaching team that won the Canadian Championship in 2019 and led the team to the playoffs in 2016 and 2020.
CF Montreal will play its next game this Saturday against the Chicago Fire at 1 p.m. at Soldier Field.
