MLB: Vladimir Guerrero son, Marcus Semien and Shohei Ohtani in fight for the MVP
The Toronto Blue Jays are well represented for individual honors in the MLB.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Marcus Semien are in contention for the MVP in the American, as is Los Angeles Angels sensation Shohei Ohtani.
At 22, Guerrero Jr. had a remarkable season for the Jays. He tied with Salvador Perez for most homers in the Majors at 48. He also had 111 points and a .311 batting average.
His teammate Marcus Semien made his presence felt in the Jays roster with 102 RBIs and 45 homers during the campaign.
Shohei Othani made major baseball headlines throughout the campaign with his dominance at both bat and mound. With 46 home runs, the Los Angeles Angels pitcher is 9-2 with an earned-run average of 3.18 in 23 starts.
Ohtani is not, however, among the finalists for the Cy Young Trophy in the American. Another Blue Jays player finds himself there as Robbie Ray wrestles with Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees and Lance Lynn of the Chicago White Sox.
Ray impressed with a 13-7 record and a 2.84 earned run average.
