Blue Jays star player Vladimir Guerrero Jr. loves Toronto and would like to continue his career there for a long time.
It is for this reason that he would like to begin contract negotiations quickly, possibly during the off-season.
« I’m ready to sign a long-term deal with the Blue Jays, » Guerrero Jr. told baseball coverage reporter Hector Gomez. I feel really happy playing here. Hopefully something can be done about that this winter. »
Guerrero, who was born in Montreal in 1999, is earning $7.9 million this season. It is believed that he could get a contract worth around 30 million per season for ten years.
He will be entitled to arbitration next year and full autonomy in 2026.
He finished second overall in the AHL last year. This season, he has 28 home runs, 84 RBIs and a .278 batting average.
