MLB: summary of matches in the National, including that of the Nationals


Josh Bell left the Miami Marlins unanswered as he gave the Washington Nationals a 7-2 win with four RBIs on Saturday.

The first baseman went to home plate with bases filled for the first time in the opening set. He managed to push a teammate home with a single.

The situation recurred in the fourth inning when again Bell was at bat with three of his teammates on the trails. This time, he emptied the cushions with a single swing as a double that took the score to 7-0 Nationals.

Paul Campbell suffered loss for the Marlins when he was responsible for four runs for the Nationals in just three and two-thirds.

Patrick Corbin limited the Marlins to two runs and four hits in seven innings of work.
