The Minnesota Twins hit six home runs to win 10-2 over the Cleveland Indians, ending a four-game losing streak on Wednesday.
Byron Buxton first hit one on Logan Allen’s second pitch (1-4), then added two doubles and two singles. It was the first time he had five hits, and he improved his batting average to .438.
In the same round, Josh Donaldson soared to 425 feet. Allen sent Nelson Cruz on a walk, then Jorge Polanco hit a homer as well, so the Twins were already leading 4-0 after just 14 shots.
Mitch Garver slammed a solo homerun in the fifth inning, and another two runs in the seventh at the expense of rookie Sam Hentges.
Williams Astudiollo got the other CC for the Twins, who have won twice in 10 games.
JA Happ (2-0), who maintained a scoreless game until the eighth inning in his last outing against Pittsburgh, allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings.
Glasnow wins in pain against the A’s
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Oakland Athletics 2-0.
Tyler Glasnow (3-1) struck out 10 batters in seven innings in the win. He allowed five hits and two walks.
Glasnow made 98 shots despite dealing with a cramp in his right leg that made him uncomfortable.
Diego Castillo made the last two strikeouts to earn his sixth save in eight occasions.
Mike Zunino’s fifth homer of the season broke the ice in the fifth inning and the team went 2-0 moments later.
The A’s suffered a third loss in four outings after enjoying a superb winning streak that lasted 13 games.
Tigers – White Sox postponed
The game between the Detroit Tiger and the Chicago White Sox has been postponed due to the rain.
It will therefore be postponed until Thursday as part of a double program.
Detroit won the first game of the series 5-2 on Tuesday, ending a five-game losing streak.
