The Cleveland Indians defeated the Baltimore Orioles 10-4 on Saturday.
At the same time, the Orioles lost the services of starting pitcher John Means.
He came out in the first inning after two strikeouts due to left shoulder problems.
The southpaw allowed two solo homers to Cesar Hernandez and Harold Ramirez, then a single to Eddie Rosario.
Manager Brandon Hyde then reported to the mound and Means stepped down, being replaced by Adam Plutko.
Plutko threw a game with no runs or hits on May 5 in Seattle.
Means’ earned run average (4-1) dropped from 2.05 to 2.28 today.
