MLB: reliever Sergio Romo would soon join the Toronto Blue Jays

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Postthe Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly close to signing reliever Sergio Romo.

The 39-year-old was released by the Seattle Mariners after a difficult start to the campaign. He has an 8.16 earned run average in 17 appearances on the mound. Last season he played with the Oakland A’s recording a 4.67 ERA.

He also played for the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins throughout his career, which began in 2008.
