BOSTON – Kyle Seager had a single, a double and a triple, Sam Haggerty and Ty France hit two hits and the Seattle Mariners defeated the Boston Red Sox 8-2 on Saturday.
Seager first hit a single that allowed Ty France to cross the plate in the first inning to put the Mariners in the scoring. He then produced two more runs with a treble in the second inning, then added a double in the fifth.
Seager, who had a homerun in his last at-bat on Friday night, had two opportunities to complete the carousel on Saturday but was struck out in the seventh before being put out in the ninth inning when his ball was caught. by third baseman Rafael Devers.
Chris Flexen (2-1) limited the Red Sox to four hits in seven innings of work. He allowed a run, a walk and hit a batter, while striking out seven opponents.
