MLB: Julio Rodriguez on the verge of hitting the jackpot in Seattle

Julio Rodriguez is reportedly on the verge of breaking the bank before his first Major League season even ends.

The Seattle Mariners and their star rookie are working on terms of a long-term, big-money deal, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.

There is talk of a 14-year deal that would bring in a guaranteed amount of $210 million to Rodriguez. This amount could even climb to 470 million dollars with all the options attached to the contract. It would be the biggest contract in Major League history.

The 21-year-old Rodriguez hit 20 home runs and drove in 64 runs in 108 games with the Mariners. He had 113 hits in 420 plate appearances.
