MLB game summary of April 10, 2021: Avisail Garcia’s big game to stop the Cardinals


The Milwaukee Brewers ended the St. Louis Cardinals’ four-game winning streak with a 9-5 victory on Saturday.

Avisail Garcia hit a home run, a double and produced five runs to help his team win. This is his best production since his 6 points acquired on May 30, 2017, when he was part of the White Sox.

He first hit a two-run homerun over Carlos Martinez (0-2) to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning. A walk produced another run with the bases fulfilled in the sixth, then added a two-run double in the seventh.

Keston Hiura for his part hit a long ball good for three runs to bring the score to 8-2 in the seventh.

Brewers starter Adrian Houser (1-1) allowed one run in each of his five innings at the mound and was substituted in sixth after sending Yadier Molina to first pad early in the sixth inning.

PHI: The Phillies took a 2-0 lead thanks to a 2-point single from Didi Gregorius.
ATL: Freddie Freeman hit a 2-run homerun and put home the runner who definitely gave the Braves the lead in the seventh inning

Cubs 2 – Pirates 8

CHC: Javy Baez got 2 of 8 Cubs hits
PIT: Pirates ended six-game loss in a row

Reds 3 – Diamondbacks 8

CIN: Reds conceded their first loss in seven games
ARI: Riley Smith allowed just 2 runs on 8 hits in six innings in his first career start

Nationals 5 – Dodgers 9

WAS: Juan Soto hit two long balls and Ryan Zimmerman had 3 hits for the Nationals, who are still without four players in connection with the coronavirus
LAD: Chris Taylor hit a 3-run homer and AJ Pollock produced the same
