MLB: Game 3 of the World Series postponed by bad weather

Game 3 of the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros has been postponed due to bad weather.

Major League Baseball made the announcement around 6:45 p.m. after consulting with the relevant authorities.

This postponement means that if the series goes to the limit, Game 7 would be presented on Sunday.

“It affects both clubs. You just have to take a break, get a good night’s sleep and be ready to play the next day, Astros manager Dusty Baker said. It’s part of baseball. »

His opposite Rob Thomson also agreed with Major League Baseball’s decision to postpone the game.

« Everyone prefers to play in (good) conditions, » Thomson said. It will be fair for everyone. »

This postponement also allows teams to reshuffle their pitching personnel. The Phillies have announced that they will give the ball to Ranger Suarez in place of right-hander Noah Syndergaard.

Suarez’s departure had to be postponed for 24 hours because he was used as a relief in the first encounter.

Aaron Nola will be on the mound for Game 4, while Syndergaard could potentially be on duty in Game 5 if he isn’t used in relief by then.

For the Astros, barring a change, Lance McCullers will be on the mound tomorrow, as scheduled.

The Phillies won the World Series in 1980 and 2008.

Grand champions in 2017, the Astros are in the final stage for the fourth time in six years, the second time in a row with Dusty Baker as manager. Atlanta won in six games last year.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson took over when Joe Girardi was fired on June 3.

He’s looking to join Bob Lemon (Yankees, 1978) and Jack McKeon (Marlins, 2003) as the only managers hired in the middle of a season to go on to triumph in the World Series.

He is the first Canadian to lead a team in this prestigious showcase.
