MLB: Boston Red Sox trade pitcher Connor Seabold to Colorado Rockies

BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have traded right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold to the Colorado Rockies for either a player whose identity will be known later or cash.

The 26-year-old Seabold was named for assignment last week to free up space in the 40-man Red Sox roster following the one-year, $10 million signing of Corey Kluber.

Seabold spent the majority of last season with the Red Sox’s AAA club Worcester, where he finished his season with an 8-2 record, including a 3.32 ERA and 89 strikeouts. He played in six major league games with the Red Sox, allowing 25 earned runs in 21.1 innings and 19 strikeouts.
