MLB: Boston Red Sox could listen to offers on Chris Sale

Could Chris Sale leave the Red Sox?

With three years remaining on his five-year, US$145 million contract, New York Post reporter Jon Heyman reported that the Red Sox may be considering offers for the seven-time MLB All-Star Game.

The 33-year-old Gunner is currently on a rotation in Boston with Nick Pivetta, Garrett Whitlock, James Paxton and newly Corey Kluber.

However, Sale has only made 11 starts since 2019. The Lakeland, Florida native missed the entire short 2020 season due to Tommy John surgery and made nine appearances the following season. 2022 hasn’t been easy as he suffered a broken rib, a broken finger after being shot and a broken wrist in a motorbike accident last August. That injury list resulted in a total of 5.2 innings pitched in two starts.

Heyman suggests the Los Angeles Angels would be a potential destination for Sale.
