MLB: Blue Jays recall Alek Moanoah
The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled their top pitcher prospect Alek Manoah and he will start against the New York Yankees on Wednesday, reports The Athletic.
The 23-year-old gunner has dominated his three AAA starts this season, maintaining a 3-0 record with an earned-run average of 0.50 and 27 strikeouts in 18 innings of work.
This is his first season at such a high level. In six outings with Vancouver at A level last season, Manoah was 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA and 27 RAB in 17 innings.
Manoah was a 1st round pick – 11th overall – of the Blue Jays in the 2019 draft.
