Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos has been named executive of the year according to Baseball Americait was announced on Friday.
The Quebecer was hired as general manager by the Braves in November 2017.
From 2015 to 2017, the team lost at least 90 games per season. Since then, the Braves have finished first in the National Division East five times in a row in addition to winning the World Series in 2021.
They were unable to defend their title the following year, losing in the divisional playoffs to the Philadelphia Phillies after winning 101 regular season games. It was the first time since 2003 that they broke the 100 win mark.
The Braves have a 58.1% win ratio since 2018, fifth best in MLB and second behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Nationals.
