The 5-0 loss puts the Orioles 2.5 games behind major league baseball’s lone Canadian team, which sits last among the teams drafted.
Adrian Martinez (4-3) took care of Team Maryland’s hitters allowing just three hits and two free passes in six innings at the mound. The three relievers who succeeded him each allowed an opponent to reach the trails, but none scored a point.
Seth Brown had an inspired batting game on the « A’s » side. He hit three hits – including two solo homers – in four chances.
Sheldon Neuse and Shea Langeliers enriched the brand with a simple productive each.
A great start wasted
At Great American Ball Park, the Cincinnati Reds collapsed late in the game, after an excellent performance from their gunner Nick Lodolo, and the Colorado Rockies triumphed 8-4.
Before giving up the hill to Joey Kuhnel (2-3), Lodolo had kept the visitors silent. He had recorded nine strikeouts in six innings, allowing only two hits.
However, upon his departure, the Rockies scored four runs in one inning before Kuhnel scored a single out.
At the end of the duel, CJ Cron hit his 25e circuit of the season to crown the rise of his family.
German Marquez (8-10) deservedly added a win to his record, allowing just three hits and two runs in seven innings.
