MLB: A 1st circuit of George Springer

The Toronto Blue Jays suffered an 8-4 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Friday.

Vladimir Guerrero has not had a hit in three appearances and was struck out once. Since opening camp, he has posted a .400 batting average.

Akil Baddoo and Isaac Paredes homered for the Tigers.

For the Jays, George Springer hit his first home run in camp. Lourdes Gurriel Jr., who had three hits, including a long ball.

Adopted Quebecer Otto Lopez was cleared in two at bats. He is posting an average of .083 since the start of camp.

Starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu worked three innings. He gave up three earned runs on four hits. He got two strikeouts and didn’t walk.
