Based on information fromEl Confidencial, Lionel Messi carried out a real estate transaction in 2017 which could prove to be… losing.
On June 8, 2017, Lionel Messi decided to invest. The latter, still under contract with Barça, has decided to acquire, for 30 million euros, a 4-star hotel located in Sitges, about 40 kilometers from Barcelona.
But voila, more than four years later, this purchase is back in the news. According to ‘El Confidencial’, the Argentine striker, who has meanwhile signed with PSG, acquired the space without knowing that he did not respect the town planning rules of the city and that the Ayuntamiento de Sitges had already ordered its demolition.
Still according to ‘El Confidencial’, at the time of the acquisition, the former owner of the hotel « was already aware of the irregularities and the demolition order, but he continued to do business ».
