The transfer market therefore closed its doors on September 1st. And in Ligue 1, it changed a lot throughout the summer. The clubs have been working to strengthen themselves in order to achieve the best possible season. And many have also decided to appeal to former well-known faces of the French championship. Indeed, during the off-season, many players have made their comeback in Ligue 1 after more or less time spent outside France.

Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso

And obviously, the most significant returns are on the side of theOL. Deprived of the European Cup this season, the Rhone club hit hard on the transfer window by bringing back some of its former glories. Thus, these are Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso who found the Gones, they who were free of all contracts following their respective departure fromArsenal and and of Bayern Munich. So here it is Lacazette and Tolisso back in Ligue 1, they who had decided to leave France in 2017 to go to England and Germany.

Nicolas Pepe

LikeAlexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe also left Arsenal to find Ligue 1, the championship where he had exploded in the jersey of LOSC. Recruited for an astronomical sum by the Gunners in 2019, the Ivorian will never have succeeded in establishing himself within the London club. Failing to Arsenal, Pepe will therefore try to revive this season in the French championship, where he was therefore loaned to the side ofOGC Nice. And the beginnings were also successful for the 27-year-old winger, scorer for his first match against… LOSC.

Nordi Mukiele

the PSG also appealed to a former face of Ligue 1 during this summer transfer window. Looking for a defensive element, especially at the right-back position to support Ashraf Hakimithe club of the capital went to seek Nordic Mukiele on the side of RB Leipzig. Revealed at Montpellierthe French international had taken the direction of Germany in 2018. Here is now Mukiele back in Ligue 1, within the PSG and among its stars.

Jordan Veretout

L’OM also bring back a player accustomed to Ligue 1 games in the French championship. And it is so Jordan Veretout who put down his suitcases on the Canebière. Arrived fromAS Romathe midfielder had been in exile for a few years in Italy, first at the Fiorentina, then within the Club de la Louve. In search of new blood in the midfield, theOM finally turned to Veretout, who thus found Ligue 1 after his experiences atASSE and at FC Nantes.

Moussa Sissoko

At FC Nanteswe also brought back a well-known former face from Ligue 1: Moussa Sissoko. After excelling in the jersey of Toulousethe midfielder had taken the direction of England in 2013. The French international was then engaged with Newcastle. Afterwards, Sissoko evolved to Tottenhamthen to watford, before returning to Ligue 1 this summer. Here it is now at FC Nantesa reinforcement of weight and experience for the Canaries ofAntoine Kombaoure.

And like these players mentioned above, others have also returned to Ligue 1, this applies in particular to Adrian Hunou (Angers), Malang Sarr (AS monaco), Nuno Da Costa (Auxerre), Kays Ruiz (Auxerre), Islam Slimani (Brestas revealed to you), Pierre Lees-Melou (Brest), Rony Lopez (Troyes), Brice Samba (RC Lens), Adam Ounas (LOSC) or Christopher Julien (Montpellier).
