La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus president Andrea Agnelli met with Giorgio Chiellini on Thursday to discuss the defender’s future in Turin. The 36-year-old Bianconero could leave the Old Lady at the end of the season to join Major League Soccer (MLS).
Giorgio Chiellini’s contract expires in June at Juventus and according to Gazzetta dello Sport there is little chance he will extend his stay in Turin for another season. The Italy international is expected to follow Gianluigi Buffon as he leaves Juventus. But while the goalkeeper can continue his career in Italy at 42, Chiellini is cited in a transfer abroad, to an MLS club.
Chiellini does not want to play for any other club in Italy and is considering moving to the United States. The newspaper does not mention any specific club, but suggests the American League is a possible destination for the 36-year-old defenseman.
