Max Verstappen, professional drivers and excellent simracers at the start (LIVE full video 1:30 p.m.)

The virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans are back on January 15 and 16 for a second edition with, at the start, 50 cars (LMP and GTE) and 200 drivers including the Dutchman Max Verstappen, Formula 1 World Champion. Follow the entire event live from 1:30 p.m.!

The 200 pilots involved (Juan Pablo Montoya, Bruno Spengler, Louis Deletraz, the simracers Joshua Rogers, Kevin Siggy, Bono Huis, Atze Kerkhof…) compete in the race on simulators located all over the world and find themselves behind the wheel of a prototype (Oreca 07) or a GT (Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche).

On the Belgian side, we will find on the Oreca 07 #31 of the Hainaut team WRT Simtag Esports the young Fabrice Cornelis.

“The event will take place on the rFactor 2 platform, says the organizer. The race will feature driver changes, dynamic weather and day/night transitions. The damage will affect a car, but these can be repaired during a pit stop. The full simulation includes fuel consumption and tire wear. As with a real endurance race, the drivers’ driving time is regulated: four hours minimum and seven hours maximum. Competitors must ensure that they have a high-performance internet connection. If a team is disconnected from the server, the car will be returned to the pit lane, with no penalty to serve if it reconnects. »

The winners of the second edition of these virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans will be known on Sunday, around 2 p.m.
