Max Verstappen expects to see strong Ferraris at Zandvoort

World championship leader Max Verstappen expects to face slightly more difficulty this weekend at zandvoort compared to last week’s Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps where the Dutchman led a Red Bull double with some ease.

Although Max Verstappen is looking forward to contesting his home Grand Prix this weekend at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands, the Dutchman feels that the characteristics of the route located by the North Sea – which requires much more support at Spa-Francorchamps – will most certainly help Ferrari get back into the game by closing the gigantic gap seen last week in Belgium with Red Bull.

“After the successful weekend we had at Spa, I’m looking forward to the Dutch Grand Prix. But there is a lot more downforce required on the Zandvoort track and so it will be harder for us to be dominant.” explains Verstappen to us on the eve of the Dutch GP.

“I expect Ferrari to be strong there. Obviously I want a good result, but the most important thing is always to score points, so hopefully we can do a good job. It will also be great to have my family with me to support me, I will also enjoy the weekend with all the fans, it’s just going to be crazy.

The Zandvoort circuit is known to be difficult for overtaking, which means that the position on the grid after qualifying will be essential this weekend, as Max Verstappen enters this fifteenth round of the year as the leader of the world championship with a 93-point lead over teammate Sergio Perez, second in the drivers’ standings since the Belgian Grand Prix.
