It provides for the payment of a fixed sum of $70 million and an additional $13 million in variables.

According to German media, Bayern will use the sum raised for the transfer of their Polish center forward, Robert Lewandowski, to Barcelona, estimated at more than 45 million euros, to help finance the transaction.

The two teams had already been in negotiations for several weeks over the young 22-year-old Dutch central defender.

Over the weekend, Bayern executive director Olivier Kahn confirmed these discussions in an interview with the German daily Bild.

« It’s true that we have had discussions, de Ligt is a very, very interesting player, including for his character » on the pitch, he said.

The Dutchman’s arrival in Munich, if confirmed, should make up for the departure at the end of last season of German international Niklas Süle from rival Dortmund.

In Munich, de Ligt will be in direct competition in central defense with several French internationals, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez or Benjamin Pavard, -the latter two being able to play on the sides- whom the Bavarian club rightly criticized recently for lacking the courage to lead. his defence.
