Matthew Hauser and Georgia Taylor-Brown win the Munich Super League

The second stage of the Super League was played on Sunday in Munich. It is a private competition, during which triathletes run for teams (Cheetahs, Eagles, Rhinos, Scorpions and Sharks), with three swimming-cycling-running loops. The first 15 of each race score points (15 for the first, 14 for the second, etc…).

Among the men, the Australian Matthew Hauser won (45’35 »), in the colors of the Eagles. He beat Portugal’s Vasco Vilaca (Rhinos) by 0’03 » and New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde (Sharks) by 0’12 ». Among the women, the victory was won by the Briton Georgia Taylor-Brown (Scorpions), in 49’55 ». She won ahead of her compatriot Sophie Coldwell (Cheetahs, +0’10 ») and the American Taylor Spivey (Rhinos, +0’13 »).

Beaugrand victim of a fall

Cassandre Beaugrand (Scorpions), who had won the previous weekend in London during stage 1, did not score a point this time. She was indeed the victim of a fall on her bike during the first loop and finished 21st and last. In the general classification of the Super League, the Frenchwoman is now sixth. Taylor-Brown is the new leader.

Among the men, Hauser, second in London, took the overall lead. He is ahead of Wilde, the initial leader, who won in the English capital. The Scorpions continue to lead the team standings, followed by the Sharks. Three other Super League stages are scheduled (in Malibu, in the United States, on September 17 and 18, Toulouse, on October 2, and Neom, in Saudi Arabia, on October 29).
