Where will Matt DiBenedetto be in 2022, the Wood Brothers Racing driver is still in the dark a few days before the summer break.

Where will Matt DiBenedetto be in 2022? The unknown is always in order when it comes to the future of Matt DiBenedetto in the NASCAR Cup Series. Current driver of the # 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang, Matt DiBenedetto has had no discussions with the members of Team Penske.

There was no discussion. Nothing at all. As for Team Penske, they are traditionally quite silent. When I say quiet enough, it’s really quiet. They prefer to keep communication internal until they have a plan.

Team Penske’s initial plan is to place Austin Cindric in the # 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang in place of Matt DiBendetto.

However, the departure of Brad Keselowski from Roush Fenway Racing could change plans. Austin Cindric should be promoted to the Cup directly within Team Penske. Thus, Matt DiBenedetto would have a chance to keep his place at Wood Brothers Racing, unless the team decides to trust another driver in 2022.
