Mason Toye in Montreal to stay

Forward Mason Toye has initialed a new three-year agreement with CF Montreal with an option year for 2025.

The Montreal team made the announcement on Saturday, while indicating that the 22-year-old American, who was injured against the Red Bulls last Saturday at Saputo Stadium, will have to be operated on Tuesday.

“Despite this injury and the surgery that will keep him away for several months, the Club is showing all its confidence in him with this contract extension,” said CF Montreal sporting director Olivier Renard. We wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back in good health on the pitch. « 

Toye leads CF Montreal in goals this season, having hit the target seven times in 14 games. In his career, he has played 62 appearances in Major League Soccer (MLS), totaling 14 goals in five assists. He has also worn the colors of Minnesota United FC since his debut in 2018.

Internationally, the striker has been selected by the US national team U19, U20 and U23. He notably scored a goal with the Under-23 selection on September 9, 2019 against Japan.
