Martin St-Louis is the 20th most handsome coach in the NHL according to a beauty app

It is known, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So beauty is a very vague concept. For some, a person is beautiful, for others not.

This is where the Golden Ratio Face application and its algorithms come into play.

The computer program analyzes the faces in the photos provided to it. Then it compares the faces to what is called the Golden Ratio.

What is the Golden Ratio? According to what we have been able to find on the web, the ideal face has the following proportions:

  • A visually balanced face is approximately 1.618 times longer than it is wide
  • The distance between the top of the nose and the center of the lips should be approximately 1.618 times the distance between the center of the lips and the chin
  • The distance from the hairline to the upper eyelid is typically 1.618 times the length from the top of the upper eyebrow to the lower eyelid
  • The length of an ear should be comparable to the length of the nose
  • The width of one eye should be similar to the distance between the eyes

Exactly like Grace Kelly.

In short. All that to say that the online betting site has decided to enter the photos of the various NHL head coaches into the application.

Here are the results :

Well… there are a few surprises in the rankings. I have nothing against Jay Woodcroft but from there to place him 1st?

Darryl Sutter 2nd?

John Tortorella 9th?

Martin St-Louis 20th?

When he was in 16th place, Bruce Boudreau jumped!

If it’s a poll, there are certainly several blind people who have given their opinion!

Bruce Boudreau

Well no Bruce. Do not underestimate yourself. You are beautiful.

In any case, LOTS more handsome than Peter Laviolette depending on the application…
